This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Windsor School Sports Partnership. Since our inception back in 2005, we believe that we have come an extremely long way. Sporting activity and provision in Windsor has sky rocketed over this time and is now the fore front of every school. Every child in Windsor takes part in a minimum of 2 hours of high quality PE lessons a week, with over 70% of children taking part in 3 hours or more, both within the curriculum and in after school clubs.
We have numerous coaches working across our 22 schools ensuring both the pupils and the teachers benefit from their expertise in a wide range of sports. Almost every child experiences a taste of our competitions or festivals, and many compete regularly.
A real aim of ours is to have a fifth of our young ambassadors trained as young leaders, and also have them actively leading both in their school and across the wider community. We believe this is almost achieved, however, we still strive to make ourselves and the leaders better.
In 2018, we introduced an Active Me and Health & Wellbeing programme into all of our schools. So far all of our schools have found these to be a great success and we look forward to continuing these programmes in the future.
